“Germans always sound mad when they are talking, why would I learn it?” or “Why should I learn such a hard language?”
This list goes on and on… Reasons not to learn German, but today I want to build on my post from last week. If you haven’t read it. It’s fine it doesn’t matter. I just explained why German actually is much easier than you think.
So here goes…
Reasons to Specifically Learn German
- As English speaker you will find it easy.
Ok, so, this is basically what I’ve said before
- Germany’s Economy is Fantastic
Thus it can be really helpful for your career if you are German fluent.
In Germany, especially Berlin, is great for business startups. Have you ever heard of SoundCloud? A new business is started every 20 minutes in Berlin and most of them are highly successful.
The German government pays for tution, even for foreigners. You only have to know German.
This really is a big upside, especially for the fact that these degrees are some of the greatest in the world.
Reasons applicable to all Languages
- Postpone Dementia by around 4,5 years
Scientists had proven that by learning a new language will basically gym your brain, which will postpone Dementia. This is quite nice; I don’t know about you, but I don’t want Dementia.
- You can see the World through other’s eyes
Part of learning a new language requires you learning the culture. This helps you to think in a different way.
I once read that when speaking another language one actually have a little personality shift. I have found that very true for myself. That actually is quite nice in a way. A little life hack!
