You have probably heard the saying: ‘If travelling was free, you’d never see me again.’? What if I told you that there is a way? What if you can get on a plane tomorrow when you wake up and never return? You can!
Another really cool thing about travelling is that it will boost your language skills. For those of us learning German, going to a German-speaking country will definitely help you learn German faster and easier than before. Also, remember that Germany is not the only German-speaking country, you can also travel cheap in Switzerland while learning German more efficiently by speaking it. Other countries in which you can use your German skills are Austria, Luxembourg, Belgium and Lichtenstein.
The above-mentioned countries are, however, not the only ones in which German is spoken. According to deutchland.de, there are 42 countries in total. Have a look at their post on all the countries in which German is spoken.
I guess that at some point I have to say how it is possible to travel cheap? Finding a job that you can do virtually is my personal favourite, but you can also house sit and Au pair for some extra cash and a place to live.

House Sitting
Did you think that only happened in movies? Guess again. This option does not necessarily pay much of even at all and in some cases, you need to pay a membership fee. But it offers you a way to stay for free in great places.
Sites such as House Carers can help you to find the perfect house to sit.
Au Pairing
Many people choose this option. There are many different ways in which Au pairing works, but in most cases, you are a live-in nanny with a family. It is, however, important to check with your host family what they would expect of you.
I am not going to give you a full explanation on this topic, but I would really recommend your reading fluento.com’s post on Au pairing abroad.
Other Jobs to Fund Your Traveling
Sell your photos
While travelling we often take some really remarkable pictures. You can sell these pictures and so earn money with the photos you take while travelling. This is pretty perfect, it basically makes travelling your job! You do need to be able to take good pictures and have a good camera, but I think it is a small price to pay.
Go to this page to sign up with Shutterstock to sell photos.
Blogging
As you probably can guess this one is my ultimate favourite… You can write about your travels and earn money while doing so. There are many great free guides online that you can use to start your own blog, but the first step is to get a domain.

Freelancing
By freelancing you can work from any place on earth and you set the times. There are many ways to freelance. Most people start out on a site such as Upwork.
Let me know how it works out for you. Have fun traveling cheap my dearests!
xoxo,
Charlé
